Hot rolled steel
Hot-rolled steel for drawing and cold forming
Standard of reference UNI-EN 10111
Supply conditions PICKLED
Steels for drawing, consisting of four grades, which represent the degree of difficulty of the applications.
DD 11 | Steel for bending and light drawing |
---|---|
DD 12 | Steel for medium drawing |
DD 13 | Steel for deep drawing |
DD 14 | Steel for very deep drawing and for carrying-out more difficult parts |
Hot-rolled steel for structural applications
Standard of reference UNI-EN 10025
Supply conditions NOT-PICKLED (black) or PICKLED
Structural steel, consisting of 4 levels identified by the guaranteed minimum yield strength. Each level consists in turn of different grades depending on the characteristics of impact strength KV and the supply conditions.
These steels are suitable for various applications in general construction and in the manufacture of parts that have to withstand severe stresses. According to the minimum yield strength, the most suitable material can be identified depending on the end use. For high yield strengths related to other formability performances, it is necessary to move towards high tensile micro-alloyed steels.
S185 | Basic steel |
---|---|
S235 | Equipment which does not need to be lightweight and not subjected to severe stress. Grade fit for parts with medium difficulty. |
S275 | Operating parts subjected to average level stresses: section bars, welded beams, tanks. |
S355 | Fixed or mobile parts, metal structures that need to withstand heavy stresses: street lamps, trailer chassis, equipment for public works. |
Hot-rolled steel with high yield strength for cold forming
UNI-EN 10149-2 thermo-mechanical steels (more generally known and used), UNI-EN 10149-3 normalised steels
Supply conditions NOT-PICKLED (black) or PICKLED
High tensile steels, micro-alloyed with guaranteed minimum yield strength: they are excellent for welding and cold forming. The grades are identified by the minimum guaranteed yield strength. The high mechanical characteristics of this range of steels and the good drawing performance allow to create cost-effective solutions for several parts or parts that require reductions in weight, thickness and overall dimensions, while leaving unchanged the resistance of parts or components. Some examples of application can be: highway trailer trucks, buckets, large trucks, cranes, farm equipment, beams, welded tubes, profiles in general for scaffolds or shelves, containers, guide bars, street lamps. The regularity of spring back makes this steel suitable for all automated mass productions and also facilitates assembly.

Hot-rolled steel for one-surface enamelling
Thanks to a concept of analysis related to specific rolling parameters, this type of material is suitable for ONE SURFACE enamelling.
Prior to industrial use, we recommend a test batch because the required surface grade is influenced not only by the material but also by the pre-treatment and the type of enamel used.
